AI Agents overview

Letterhead AI agents assist you with newsletter work by automating content checks, drafting emails, and analyzing performance. How an agent runs depends on its type — automatically, on a schedule, or on demand — and every run surfaces “judgments”—findings and suggestions for you to review.

Penpal, Letterhead’s assistant, is a different thing from the agents on this page: it’s the conversational assistant that carries out Letterhead tasks for you, and it’s in every account — open it with the speech-bubble button in the top bar, from any page. Core agents

Letterhead includes two core agents:

1. Email Content Check — A pre-send validation agent that flags issues like broken links, missing alt text, and other content problems before you send.
2. Analyze — Reviews your content and performance data to surface insights and recommendations.

Access agents

1. Navigate to Agents (company-level dashboard).
2. View all available agents and their status.
3. Select an agent to manage its schedule (Analyze) or, for Analyze only, run it on demand. Email Content Check triggers automatically and has no schedule or manual run.

How agents work

Agents surface their output as “judgments”—suggestions and findings. After running an agent, review the judgments in the Agent Feed or, while you’re editing a newsletter, in the composer’s Preflight Agent panel. The findings are read-only — there are no accept or dismiss controls; use them to guide your work.
