What's new — week of Oct 12, 2026

This note is held as a draft. It repeats several updates from the week of Oct 5 note, and the two need to be published separately or merged before it goes live.

Here are this week’s product updates for Letterhead publishers.

Newsletters

• Applying a brand kit to a newsletter or template you’ve already built now restyles every block, not just buttons — block backgrounds, borders, padding, text and heading fonts and colors, links, curated content, images, buttons, and promotions all update to match your kit in one step.
• In beta for some accounts, you can fine-tune the letter spacing of text in your newsletter, down to each part of a story card, from -1 to 5 pixels between characters.
• Letterhead now checks your newsletter’s accessibility as part of preflight, catching issues like missing alt text, low contrast, skipped heading levels, and unclear link labels.

Curations

• A curation block’s settings now show only the filters your block actually uses, instead of listing every available filter.

Audience

• Clicks now count as engagement, so readers who click but never register an open stay out of Ghosts and are included when you send to Everyone but Ghosts.
• New subscribers get 30 days before they can be counted as Ghosts — for their first 30 days on a newsletter, someone who hasn’t engaged yet counts as Casual rather than a Ghost.
• When you import contacts, spreadsheet columns that don’t match any contact field can now be kept as custom fields, with suggested types and example values shown for you to choose from.
• You can now perform bulk actions on the Contacts table — filter your audience, select rows, and delete contacts, change subscription status, remove tags, or set custom fields all at once.

Agents

• Penpal can now tag, segment, update, subscribe, or delete contacts in bulk, with confirmation and counts before each action.
• Penpal can now see your notifications and summarize them when you ask what you missed.
