Manage an automation series

Edit in CMS

Once an automation series is running, you can pause it, change templates, view performance metrics, and restart it for new subscribers.

  1. Go to Automations and find the series you want to pause.
  2. Click the series name or the Settings / More menu.
  3. Click Deactivate, Pause, or Stop.
  4. Confirm your action.
  5. Existing subscribers in the series will not receive further messages, but their progress is preserved.
  1. Go to Automations and locate the paused series.
  2. Click the series name or the Settings / More menu.
  3. Click Reactivate or Resume.
  4. Choose whether to restart existing subscribers or only apply to new subscribers going forward.
  5. Click Confirm to resume sending.
  1. Open the automation series.
  2. Click on a message step or template.
  3. Click Edit to update the subject, body, or content.
  4. Save your changes.
  5. (Optional) Choose to apply changes only to new sends or to retest previous subscribers.
  1. Open the automation series.
  2. Look for a Health, Performance, or Analytics tab.
  3. Review metrics such as:
    • Sent — total messages sent
    • Opens — subscribers who opened the message
    • Clicks — subscribers who clicked a link
    • Unsubscribes — subscribers who unsubscribed
    • Bounces — delivery failures
    • Errors — any issues encountered during sending
  1. In the series details, look for Errors, Issues, or Logs.
  2. Click to expand and see specific failures or reasons messages were not sent.
  3. Use error details to troubleshoot and improve your series (e.g., invalid email addresses, template issues).
  1. If you’ve paused the series and want new subscribers to start the automation fresh:
  2. Open the series and click Restart or Reactivate with fresh subscribers.
  3. Existing subscribers will not repeat; only new ones matching the trigger will enter the series.
  1. Open the series and click Delete or the trash icon.
  2. Confirm—this action cannot be undone.
  3. All history and performance data for the series will be removed.
