Promotion lifecycle: clone, auto-expire, set inactive
Edit in CMSLetterhead makes it easy to reuse and manage promotions throughout their lifecycle by cloning, pausing, and setting automatic expiry dates.
Clone a promotion
Section titled “Clone a promotion”Cloning a promotion saves time when you want to run a similar promotion again with updated terms or targeting.
- Navigate to Promotions and find the promotion you want to clone.
- Click the Actions or More menu (three dots) next to the promotion.
- Select Clone (TODO: confirm exact button label).
- Review the cloned promotion details and update any settings (name, dates, offer terms, etc.).
- Click Save or Create to finalize the clone.
Set a promotion as inactive
Section titled “Set a promotion as inactive”Inactive promotions no longer display to subscribers but retain their data and configuration for future reference.
- Open the promotion you want to deactivate.
- Toggle the Active switch or status to the “Off” position (TODO: confirm toggle location and exact label).
- Click Save. The promotion will no longer be shown to subscribers.
Configure auto-expiry by date
Section titled “Configure auto-expiry by date”Set a specific expiration date so a promotion automatically expires and stops displaying without manual intervention.
- Open or create a promotion.
- Locate the Expiry Date or End Date field (TODO: confirm exact field name).
- Select or enter the date when the promotion should expire.
- Save your changes. On the expiry date, the promotion will automatically become inactive.
TODO: Confirm whether auto-expired promotions require manual reactivation or move to a separate “archived” state.
