Automation email preferences
Edit in CMSAutomation email preferences let you control how and when each series sends messages. Settings are per-automation and allow you to customize timing, frequency, and compliance options.
Access Email Preferences
Section titled “Access Email Preferences”- Go to Automations and select the series you want to configure.
- Click Settings or Email Preferences.
- You should see options for sending behavior and delivery settings.
Available Preferences (Confirm Options)
Section titled “Available Preferences (Confirm Options)”TODO: confirm available options from the live app. Examples likely include:
- Send Time: Fixed time of day, subscriber timezone, or optimal send time
- Day of Week: Restrict sending to specific days (e.g., Mon–Fri only, no weekends)
- Frequency Capping: Limit how many automation messages a single subscriber receives per day/week
- Respect Unsubscribe Lists: Automatically exclude unsubscribed email addresses
- Subscriber Consent: Require explicit opt-in before sending automation emails
- Reply-To Address: Set a custom reply-to email for automation messages
- From Name / Address: Customize the sender identity for this automation
Save Preferences
Section titled “Save Preferences”- Adjust the settings as needed for your use case.
- Click Save or Apply.
- Changes take effect for new messages; previously scheduled messages are not affected.
Examples
Section titled “Examples”Re-engagement series with respect for user preferences:
- Enable “Respect unsubscribe lists”
- Set frequency capping to 1 message per day per subscriber
- Choose a preferred send time (e.g., 9 AM in each subscriber’s timezone)
High-priority transactional-style automation:
- Disable frequency capping (important messages should always send)
- Set immediate send time
- Customize the from name to match your brand
