Company-Level Automations Errors Table

Edit in CMS

The Automations Errors Table shows you when an automation fails and why. Instead of guessing what went wrong, filter your company’s automations by Error status and review the details in one table.

  1. From your Company Dashboard, go to System Monitor → Automations.
  2. Use the Status dropdown to filter by Error.

The table lists every automation that has hit a problem. If none have, you’ll see an empty state — “There is nothing here, yet.”

  • Title — the automation’s name
  • Channel — where the automation belongs
  • Status — shows Error if the automation failed to run
  • Template — the template the automation uses
  • Latest Send — the last successful send
  • Next Send — when it’s scheduled to run next

When an automation shows Error, the table also names the reason. The label matters, because some of these need you to restart the automation and others clear up on their own.

The automation began putting its newsletter together but didn’t finish, so it was stopped before sending. This usually means that edition was unusually large or slow to assemble, and it often works on the next run.

Open the automation, review it, then turn it back on and set the timing for the next run. If a partly-built draft was saved, you’ll find it alongside your other newsletter drafts, so you can salvage or discard it. If the same automation keeps stopping this way, contact Letterhead Support — an edition that never manages to finish is worth looking at properly rather than restarting over and over.

The email service that sends this channel’s newsletters couldn’t be reached, so Letterhead paused every running automation on that connection instead of letting them fail one at a time.

You don’t need to restart these individually. They turn themselves back on once the connection is working again. You’ll have had a separate notification about the connection itself — sort that out, and the automations resume where they left off.

Template missing, Template invalid, or Template deactivated

Section titled “Template missing, Template invalid, or Template deactivated”

The automation’s template can no longer be used — it’s been deleted, deactivated, or is not a template this automation can send. Use Select Different Template on the row to choose a working one, then Reactivate.

Something stopped the automation that we don’t have a more specific explanation for yet. Try reactivating it, and if it stops again, contact Letterhead Support with the automation’s title so we can trace it.

If the label above didn’t tell you enough, review the affected automation’s setup — its segment, frequency, draft, and template — to confirm nothing is missing or misconfigured. If you can’t resolve it, contact Letterhead Support with the automation title and error details.

Checking this table regularly catches problems early, before they interrupt your sending schedule. For monitoring an individual automation’s live performance, see Monitor a running automation, and for everything else in the area, Working in Automations.
