Can readers of a private newsletter open it in their browser?

When you send a private newsletter — one that doesn’t appear on your public archive page — the people who received it can now click View in browser and read that exact edition on the web. The link opens straight from their email, just as it does for a public newsletter.

It stays private

Opening a private edition in the browser doesn’t make it public:

• It stays unlisted in your public archive and out of search results.
• It opens only for someone who has the unique link from their own copy of the email. A guessed or numbered web address still reveals nothing.

So the reader who received the email can always get back to a clean, readable copy, while everyone else still sees nothing.

Test sends work too

When you send yourself a test of a private newsletter, its View in browser link opens the same way — showing the edition with a banner that takes you back to the composer to keep editing.
